Malibu Seafood

the best way to end a relaxing day of bike riding along santa monica beach?
food. of course. we went to malibu seafood after our sunset bike ride from santa monica beach to will rogers state beach. it's about a 15 minute drive - depending on traffic. i got mussels and fries. theo got the mahi tuna burger and fries. then we saw left over fried shrimp next to us. i was so tempted to eat the left overs but was afraid of strange looks and diseases and bacteria. i hate wasting food. especially untouched jumbo sized shrimp! theo ordered fried shrimp and fries and clam chowder to save us the embarrassment and perhaps a trip to the ER. the best part about malibu seafood? byob. of course we didn't know about that until i studied other patrons' picnic tables that were decorated with gingham, floral and lace table cloths, flowers and candles (brought from their homes). next time - i'm getting steamed crab and theo's getting lobster. no fried food. just the crab, lobster and a bottle of chilled white wine. yum. oh and i'm shopping for table cloths.

3 years!

*Picture taken by Christiaan Phleger, our wedding photographer. This photo is on their website!
Kauai, May 6, 2006.... Ahhh, I can hear the waves crashing now....
I'm so happy Kris wanted me to get a long veil. All the pictures look so amazing because of the veil flying in the wind. So dramatic and so editorial!

Theo and I've been married for 3 years! And in November, it will be 7 years since we met a bar, Dive 75, in the UWS! Thank you Sun for wanting to go to a bar that fateful weekend you visited NYC for the first time! :) Our 3 year anniversary was quite uneventful due to me being up in Seattle for a business trip. Boo :( But everyday is like an anniversary for us. I feel as though I just met Theo sometimes and we're still getting to know each other. And other days, I feel as though I've known him all my life.
My new job has been super duper crazy and so I haven't been able to post new entries. Work has been consuming my free "me time," but I know that this shall pass and I'll be back blogging. Don't you worry my fellow 3 followers! :) tee hee
Okay, back to work.... :)

Passport

I can't believe we actually did it! Theo and I bought our Annual Disneyland Passports! I know! I never, ever, EVER thought this day would come. And I admit to those days of disbelief when Sunny told me how much she spent on her annual passes. They have monthly payments, so it makes you feel much better about purchasing an annual pass. Theo and I went last week Sunday and we had sooo much fun! We went to Knott's last year August and had an amazing time too! However, while at Knott's, we found ourselves talking non stop about Disneyland. Childhood memories, the cleanliness and my two favorite rides, The Pirates of the Carribean and The Haunted Mansion. We also liked that the element of death at a theme park may be lower at Disneyland than at Knott's. I don't feel like I'm going to die on every ride at Disneyland and definitely not as much prepubescent lawlessness as there is at Knott's. The fireworks show was absolutely amazing! Oh man, they used the really expensive stuff! Yes, Disneyland is not Firenze or Paris. But it's a trip back to my childhood (we had to go at least once or twice a year growing up) and it's worth all the money in the world to leave all my worries and stress of everyday life at the entrance gates. They have a fast pass line too! Pick up a ticket and it lets you know what time to come back and voila - we were on the ride in less than 10 minutes! We went last week Sunday with our 2fer tickets and with no intention to buy annual passes. Sunny met us for a couple of hours and we treated her to dinner at the Blue Bayou for her early bday dinner. And this past Monday, we all went to California Adventures to complete our use of the 2fer ticket. Being at California Adventures made us realize how much we miss being at Disneyland! So, we bought our annual passports and it's good for both parks! I'm so happy I get to go to Disneyland whenever I want and feel like I'm 7 again. I'm the luckiest person in the world! And never again will I make fun of Disneyland annual passports. Thanks Sunny for encouraging us to get our passports!

We arrived around 11 ish and stayed until the park closed at 12 midnight!
We had to go on my two favorite rides as soon as we entered the park! Pirates of the Carribean and the Haunted Mansion. Theo and I were like little kids and couldn't wait for our next ride.
Thank goodness for Fast Pass!

Theo getting ready for the ride to start!
He spun the cup so fast, he was "traumatized," as he put it.

"I want to go to there!" (I love Tina Fey!)
I love pink doors. I'm going to paint a door pink too, one day very soon.

Dinner at the Blue Bayou with Sunny. I always thought as a child that the Blue Bayou was for adults as we would pass the restaurant in our boats right before the big drop into the Carribean. I always liked hearing the sounds of the silverware and clinking of glasses from the restaurant too. I got the jambalaya, which was actually really good! Not dry like Cheesecake Factory's jambalaya. I always have to ask for extra sauce there and it's never saucy enough for my spicy palette. What Theo and I need to do is go to New Orleans for real jambalaya! Oh well, at least we have New Orleans Square for now and I get to feel like a little kid again....

Waiting in line for Peter Pan and exhausted. It was close to 11pm. We just saw the prettiest fireworks, "Dreams really do come true," and I saw Tinkerbell fly through the air as she lit up the sky with her pixie dust. I sound crazy. At least I'm happy crazy! tee hee :)

I miss Italia

Ristorante La Giostra, Firenze

I just finished writing an email to my sister's friend with Italy sightseeing and restaurant recommendations. My heart yearns for the warmth of the Tuscan sun and the sounds of the bells striking at random times. Theo and I went back to his beloved Paris twice and we have yet to go back to see my Firenze. I miss those days of drinking red wine after class with my friends and our steak dinners at La Giostra. Every time I recommend La Giostra, people always come back from Firenze raving about the food, ambiance and service.
Si. Sono d'accordo.

New profile pic

I updated my profile picture today.
The picture was taken by my sister's college best friend and bridesmaid, Veronica. It was during the most magical bachelorette weekend in Mexico. Bridal shower #2 for Kristen. Lucky girl!
Check out Veronica's blog and website for www.verosuh.com for stunning and memorable pictures. She's pursuing her love of photography on the side while working full time for BR! Very impressive! Theme of the bridal shower? Haute Hippies. Isn't it obvious? tee hee :)

Editorial Shot of my beaded heart

I just love this shot of my beaded heart! I love the way how the light hits the beads and the runner. This picture belongs in a magazine.
:) tee hee
This is another picture from the wedding photographer. The beaded lace the florist use to decorate the vases matched the beaded heart - serendipitously!

I love this picture! This is from the professional wedding photographer and what a shot! I'm so grateful they took this candid picture of us. I'm so happy whenever I'm with Theo and this picture really captured it all so perfectly. He makes me laugh all the time....
